Sewing sustainably often means using what you already have, but that doesn’t mean sacrificing excitement. Here’s how to refresh your creativity while keeping it budget-friendly:
✅ Match new prints to your existing fabric stash using color theory cards or visual comparisons
✅ Use panels or themed fabric kits to make one or two special pieces feel like a whole new collection
✅ Lean into creative mixing: color-block, piece leftovers, or use contrasting linings and bindings for visual interest
🛍 4. Stock Up on Notions & Hardware While They're Readily Available
Tariffs won’t just hit fabric—they may impact interfacing, zippers, hardware, and cork too. Plan ahead by:
Building a mini stash of essential notions (interfacing, zippers, swivel clips, etc.)
Prioritizing the patterns you love most and ordering the supplies now
Keeping a checklist of what you use regularly so you’re never caught short mid-project
In summary: Tariffs may be out of our control, but sustainable sewing choices are not. With mindful planning, strategic buying, and a little creative thinking, you can continue to sew economically and ethically. We're here to help you do just that—with USA-milled fabrics, intentional preorders, and helpful resources every step of the way.🌟 Pro Tip: Our DyeNamic Fabric Kits™ often include curated pieces like cork tags, charms, and notions so you can make without scrambling for extras.

I really like the idea of stocking up on hardware and notions. Even when I make a bag now I realize I don’t have the colors zipper I want etc. I also like the use panel and themed fabric kits to make two items to feel like a whole new collection. I have too many themed fabrics.
I really like that I can plan ahead with your preorder schedule. With the added bonus of your advice on colors and trends, I’m able to get what I need!
